ASUC, you spent $22,679 on Oren's legal fees?!

That is some gall. Why is the ASUC paying for legal fees in a court matter that was entirely unneccsary, as the Judicial Council dealt with the matter all by itself? I call shenanigans.

$22,679. This better be all over the Daily Cal, there better be protests, recalls, et cetera, et cetera. There is misappropriation of the highest degree, and the Senators who have put their name to this resolution should know about it:

Senators Ansary, Asuncion, Avelino, Averbach, Chen, Garcia, Law, Lee, Manassero, Moon, Nankin, Nguyen (Vivienne), Park, Rizzo, & Finance Officer Desai all co-authored the legislation.

One could argue that without the threat of legal action the J-Council would have never accepted the appeal.

That would meet the criterion of a 1st-grader's definition of speculation.

Easy now easy.

Looking over the timeline, you can see that the appeal was accepted well before any threat of legal action took place. It can be speculated, and only speculated, that the decision was overturned because of the threat of legal action against the ASUC.
